ONGC to carry out exploratory drilling of 8 wells at NELP III Block AA-ONN-2001/3 and ten wells in Nambar area for oil and gas in Golaghat district of Assam. Total 18 nos. of exploratory wells will be drilled. So far, 40 wells have been drilled within these fields and 22 wells are producing hydrocarbons. It is proposed to drill a total of 10 new exploratory wells in ML area, five wells from two clusters (locations) CP-3 & CP-4 and five other new wells for exploration and extraction of hydrocarbon in the Nambar field. Three locations namely NRDE, NRDG, NRDH from cluster (CP-3) and two locations NRDF and NRDI from CP-4 are available and five other new exploratory wells locations will be firmed up. It may be noted, Rengma river flows through the wells.
