Maharashtra Coal Co to carry out mining at Lohara East Coal Block located in village Lohara in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. It plans to set up a opencast mine with 0.5 mtpa and an underground mine with 0.26 mtpa. It also plans to use a in-pit crusher to transport coal by conveyor belts to a surface bunker. It may be noted, the project falls in the ecologically sensitive area of Tadoba Tiger Reserve.
