JSW Steel is to open a new iron ore mine at Ankua in district Singhbum district of Jharkhand. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is at 10 mtpa. Dry crushing and screening is also proposed as part of this project, however, there will be no wet beneficiation process undertaken under this project. The ore will be transported by a 9 km long conveyor. Working will be opencast mechanized involving drilling and blasting.
