Orissa Industries to expand Kusumdihi Bauxite Mining Project located in village Kusumdihi, Tehsil Bonai in Sundergarh district of Orissa. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is at 30000 tonnes of bauxite. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 36.2 million. The topography of the area is hilly at an elevation above mean sea level ranging from 565m-680m. The present working depth of mine is 665m AMSL and the ultimate working depth of mine will be 610m AMSL. Approximately 725m³ per month of over burden (alluviam, morrum and ferruginous laterite) will be generated, which will be disposed off in the earmarked areas for its use in reclamation.
