Brahmani River Pellets to set up iron ore beneficiation plant in villages Tonta and Nalda in Barbil taluk in Keonjghar district of Orissa. The project involves setting up of  a  iron ore beneficiation plant with a capacity of 4.75miilion tonnes per annum (million TPA) throughput.  The raw material will be transported through the belt conveyor and through the road. The proposed beneficiation plant will have a pipeline of 192 km length passing through two Districts namely (i) Keonjhar and (ii) Jajpur, for transport of beneficiated iron ore slurry to the pellet plant at Jajpur. The beneficiation process involves, primary wet grinding, hydro-cycloning, two stage spiral classification, single stage high gradient magnetic separation, re-grinding and thickening of concentrate received from both spirals and magnetic separators and tailings. The tailings dam will receive tailings @ 0.7million TPA from the proposed beneficiation plant. The tailings does not contain any soluble minerals. The tailing dam is impounded with hills on three sides and is almost valley and is an independent water shed with no storm water inflow from outside the pond area. The surface run off discharge from the catchment of the tailing dam join the nearby Lashkara Nallah, which meets Karo River at a distance of 6km in Northern side of the catchment.
