GVK Coal (Tokisud) Co to carry out open cast mining for coal at Tokisud North Sub Block, located at villages Barkitand, Barkagaon, Devrgarh, South Karanpura Coalfields in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is at 2 MTPA (ROM) (peak capacity) and a washery of 2 MTPA (ROM) capacity for its linked Thermal Power Station of 2x300 MW capacity located in Punjab. It will use open cast mecahnized mining technology. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 2627 million.
