Central Coalfields to carry out mining at Urimiri Open cast mine

Central Coalfields to carry out mining at Urimiri Open cast mine located at Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is to be expanded from 1.3 mtpa to 2.0 mtpa. Mining will be done by opencast with shovel-dumper combination. It may be noted, the mine is drained by Potanga nala and Tiliya nala which outfalls into River Damodar is to be diverted from the mine on the west. The mined coal will be transported to Gidi Washery by road transport.
