Kashimurthy Shetty & Sons is to carry out mining at Keshavpura Iron ore mine located at village Keshavapura, in Holalkere Taluk in Chittradurga district of Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 20 million. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is at 0.55 MTPA (iron ore) and 0.005 MTPA (manganese ore) respectively. It may be noted, the mine was not in operation for 16 years. The mine is near Bheemasandra tank and 23 kms away from Chittradurga fort. The estimated mineable reserves are 3.184 MT for Iron ore and 0.257 MT for Manganese. It will use open cast mecahnized mining technology with blasting operations.
