Ultratech Cement to set up a coal washery at Awarpur Cement Works located at Awarpur in Korpana Taluk in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. The proposed rated capacity of the coal washery is 1.2 mtpa. The company is presently procuring coal from M/s WCL and the coal quality is poor and uneven requiring washed coal for use in the Cement Plant. The middling would be used in the TPP and the coal waste rejects which have some calorific value could be sold to end users. The flyash generated in the TPP would be used in clinker production
