ENI India to drill 3 exploratory wells in Andaman Sea

ENI India is planning to drill 3 exploratory wells in deepwater offshore block AN-DWN-2003/2 on Andaman sea. Total project cost is estimated at US$ 66,700,000 for drilling of first well. The company has obtained production sharing contract with government of India. Drilling operation will be performed with a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit which will be demobilized at the end of the project.

Essar Oil to set up production wells in Raniganj blocks

Essar Oil Ltd is planning to develop production wells in Raniganj CBM Block (RG(E)-CBM-2001/1) in West Bengal. Essar Oil ltd & Govt. of India signed a contract for exploration and production of coal bed methane (CBM) from block RG (East) – CBM-2001/1 on 26th July, 2002. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 28660 million. Total estimated production of CBM from the proposed project is 5 million m3/day. Each well is estimated to generate a peak production of 15,000 m3/day.

Great Eastern Energy Corp to set up exploratory wells in Mannargudi

Great Eastern Energy Corp is planning to set up exploratory wells for commercial production at Mannargudi CBM Block in Thanjavur and Thiruvarur districts of Tamil Nadu. In phase I, drilling of 50 core holes and 2 test wells (covering both the districts) will be carried out and in phase II, drilling of 30 test wells including 2 test wells will be drilled. Total block area is 667 sq.km and drilling will be carried out upto 600 m depth. The project cost is estimated at USD 20 million.

Geological Resources (Barbados) Inc to drill exploratory wells in Jalgaon

Geoglobal Resources (Barbados) Inc is planning to drill exploratory wells in DS-ONN-2004 block in Dhule and Jalgaon Districts of Maharashtra. Geoglobal signed the PSC for the block with Govt. of India on 2nd March, 2007 Petroleum Exploration License (PEL) to start the exploration activities in the block was given to M/s Geoglobal Resources on 07.06.2007. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 800 million.

Heramec to drill development wells in Kanward field

Heramec Ltd is planning to drill development wells in Kanward field in Anand district of Gujarat. The field was awarded to Hermec-GSPC Joint venture in year 2001. Two wells Kanawara #2 & Kanawra ( K #3) were existing at the time of awarding the field to Heramec. Currently, the company produces 0 m3/day of crude oil and 10,000 m3/day of natural gas.
