Mysore Minerals to expand Chikkashellikere Limestone Mine in Bagalkot district of Karnataka. The project involves expanding mining capacity from 0.12 MTPA to 0.25 MTPA by vertical and horizontal expansion. Mineable reserves are estimated at 21.88 mt and with propose rate of production, mine life will be at 155 years. The project will use open cast mining technology. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 15 million.

The company is also expanding Neralakere Dolomite Mine in Kategeri in Bagalkot from 0.03 to 0.15 MTPA with an investment of Rs.9.8 million.

Hutti Gold Mines to operate Mangalur Gold Mine Project in village Karadakal & Kannahalli, in Shorapur Taluk, in Gulbarga district of Karnataka. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is at 0.3 mtpa @ 100 tpd mining. The mine is still at exploratory stage and will involve underground mining. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 40 million.

Mysore Minerals to expand Ubbalagundi Iron Ore Mine located at Ubbalagundi in Sandur Taluk in Bellary district of Karnataka. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is to be expanded from 1.073 MTPA to 1.25 MTPA from a mine lease area of 80.94 ha.

Trivista Steel & Power to set up sponge iron plant at Koppal

Trivista Steel & Power to set up sponge iron plant at Hirebaganal in Koppal in Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 465 million. The project involves setting up of a Sponge Iron Plant (60,000 TPA), Captive Power Plant (4 MW) and Induction Furnace (7 Tons). Sponge iron will be produced using Direct Reduction Process using non-coking coal as reductant. Waste gas will be used in waste heat recovery boiler (WHRB).
