GMDC, which has signed a host of MoUs with various companies is keen to pick up stake in project in lieu of supply of raw materials. Companies like Sunflag Iron & Steel, Nagpur, BLA Coke, Global LDA of Mozambique, Hindustan-Dorr Oliver, Saurashtra Fuels have inked agreements with GMDC for supply of raw materials like bauxite, silica, fluorspar, sand and limestone. These companies have planned to invest Rs. 15000 million each in Gujarat for setting up coke oven plants. Aryan Coal and Adani Enterprises are planning to invest Rs.600 million each to set up coal washeries and they too will get raw materials from GMDC. GMDC may pick-up upto 26% of stake in these projects

Gujarat Ambuja Cements to undertake Vadnagar Limestone Mining Project in Village Vadnagar, Tehsil Kodinar in Junagadh district of Gujarat. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is at 1.5million TPA of limestone and 1.15million TPA of marl for captive use in their cement. The minerals will be transported to the cement plant at a distance of 2-3km by the closed conveyor. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 45 million. It may be noted, The  Shingoda Seasonal River is flowing in the buffer zone of the mine at a distance of 2.2km.

Tata Chemicals to carry out mining at Pachhatardi Limestone Mining Project located at Tata Chemicals to carry out mining at Pachhatardi in Bhanwad tehsil of Jamnagar district of Gujarat. The proposed rated capacity of the mine is at 25000 tpa and is to be increased to 100000 tpa. It will use open cast mecahnized mining technology with blasting operations.
