ONGC to expand its exploratory drilling at North Assam Shelf Block

in SE of Geleki Area (Reserve Forest Area), Sivasagar district of Assam with an investment of Rs. 780 million. It may be noted three wells have been drilled in the above area. It is proposed to drill four well viz: GKAI, GKBD, BSAA and BSAB.

in Geleki-Namti Area in Sivasagar district of Assam with an investment of Rs. 1023 million. The total area is 63.49 km2 of which 27.49 km2 in the Geleki ML area and 35.55 km2 in the Namti area. It may be noted that so far 300 wells have been drilled in the above area and it is proposed to undertake exploratory drilling activity in six locations viz., GKBE, GKBG, GKBI, BS-2, GKAP and GCG.
