ONGC to carry out exploratory drilling at PEL Block in Contai in West Bengal. Contai PEL Block, a nomination block, is located in the Medinipur district of West Bengal state. It is noted that 2D & 3D seismic survey have been carried out and one exploratory well Gobindpur-1 (GB -1), has been drilled in this block. Project is of exploratory in nature to explore the Hydrocarbons by Drilling three wells. Already one well has been drilled in this block and it is planned to drill 3 more exploratory wells.
Selan Exploration Technology to carry out Onshore Drilling of 7 development wells in Karjisan Gas and Oil Field Block in Cambay basin in Gujarat. Selan Initiated field development activity by studying Geological and Geophysical (Seismic) and Drilling Data Generated by M/s ONGC and was Completed. Now the Company is proposing for drilling of 7 development wells for production of oil & gas at Target Depth of 900-1950m. Hydrocarbon will be stored in overhead tank of 45m3 capacity at premises and oil will be transported by tankers to Nawagam CTF of ONGC for onward transmission to Koyali Refinery of IOC at Baroda by underground pipeline.
ONGC to carry out exploration in Block BS(3) CBM 2003/II at Banaskantha in Gujarat It is proposed to drill eight core wells and two test wells. The drilling depth will be 1100-1650 m. Water based drilling mud will be used. The ONGC will acquire the land temporarily for preparation of site and approach road. The area comprises the semi-arid cultivable land and there is no surface water in the area except during the monsoon season. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 1664 million.
Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation to carry out exploratory drilling at CB-ONN-2000/01 Block in Ahmedabad. The Block is in the Districts of Ahmedabad, Anand and Mehsana in Gujarat. Detroj, Baola and Wanalawa are the major townships in the Block and Sabarmati River, Fatehwadi Reservoir are in the area. Muhammad Begadas Tomb at Sarkhej and Khans mosque at Dholka Lothal the Historical/archaeological monuments- are 6 km away from the site. Petroleum exploration license (PEL) and NOC from District Collectors have been obtained. Each well will be of 110 m x 110 m. Exploration will be carried out in 3 phases. Phase I will be of 30 months consisting of production from 3 wells, collection of reservoir data, fracture analysis and geological model. The depth of the wells will be 1500 m - 1800 m. Phase II and III will comprise of seismic survey and drilling of 2 exploration wells of 1500 m depth.
