Birla Corporation to set up a 0.96 mtpa of coal washery


Birla Corporation to set up a 0.96 mtpa of coal washery in Rahurajnagar tehsil in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. It is being set up for captive use of Satna Cement Works and Birla Vikas Cement works. The project also involves setting up of  27 MW FBC thermal power plant to use 3.58 mtpa of coal rejects generated from the coal washery. The coal is to be sourced from Charcha OCP and Vadgaon OCP of M/s SECL located in Korba. The technology to be used is Batac Jig which is zero-discharge. The washed coal would be transported to the cement plant by covered conveyors with adequate water spraying arrangements at all transfer points.
